DaBaby drops a new album “BLAME IT ON BABY”.
After giving us the ‘Find My Way‘ song & short video earlier this month, DaBaby has released his brand new album called “BLAME IT ON BABY“. The project contains 13 tracks with guest appearances from Future, Roddy Ricch, Megan Thee Stallion, Quavo, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, NBA Youngboy, and Ashanti.
DaBaby wears a surgical mask in the album artwork, which is a portent of the times. He’s optimistic that the new album, like its predecessor Kirk, will be well received. Kirk debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in October. Kirk topped the album’s chart the same week DaBaby had 18 of his songs hit on the Billboard Hot 100.
DaBaby keeps up an energetic vibe throughout Blame It On Baby. Our favorite tracks include “Talk About It,” “Pick Up” featuring Quavo, and “Nasty” with Megan Thee Stallion and Ashanti. Honestly, we like how on “Talk About It,” the rapper addressed the rumors about his arrest in Miami. The beat on “Pick Up” pairs well with DaBaby and Quavo’s wordplay. “Nasty” is a sneaky follow-up to his previous feature on “Cash Shit” alongside Megan.
“Blame It on Baby” opened at number one on the Billboard 200 chart in the United States with 124,000 album-equivalent units (including 12,000 pure album sales) in its first week, becoming DaBaby’s second album to do so. The album’s second song, “Rockstar,” debuted at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100 and eventually rose to number one, becoming DaBaby’s first hit to do so.
