Lil Durk shares his new album “7220”.
After a little delay, Lil Durk’s new studio album “7220” is finally here. The project is a follow up to his 2020’s solo effort “The Voice“, and 2021’s joint project “The Voice of the Heroes” with Lil Baby. The new album was supposed to drop on the same day as Kanye West’s “Donda 2” but was pushed back.
The new album is laced with previously released singles “Ahhh Ha” and “Broadway Girls” with Morgan Wallen. The album contains a pack of 17 tracks, with additional guest appearances from Future on “Petty Too”, Gunna on “What Happened To Virgil”, and Summer Walker on “Difference Is”.
The rapper recently indulge in reignited beef with NBA Youngboy, after the two traded shots on “Ahhh Ha” and “I Hate Youngboy”.
7720, named after Lil Durk’s grandmother’s address in his birthplace of Chicago, Illinois, was supposed to be released on February 22, the same day as Kanye West’s Donda 2.
Durkio, on the other hand, backed out of the all-Chicago showdown at the last minute when he pushed his album back to March. Kanye is also keeping fans waiting for the completed version of Donda 2, which is being previewed via his $200 Stem Player.
Future, Gunna, Summer Walker, and Morgan Wallen had featured cameos on the original 7220, which debuted on March 11 and included the singles “Ahhh Ha,” “Pissed Me Off,” and “Golden Child.” With sales of 120,000 equivalent album units in its first week, it became Durk’s first No. 1 solo LP in the history of the Billboard 200. With 47,000 copies, it reclaimed the top place one month following its release.
