Dreamville drops the ‘Down Bad’ video.
After giving us the visual for J. Cole, DaBaby & Lute assisted ‘Under The Sun‘, Dreamville continues releasing new videos as they drop one for the track called ‘Down Bad‘ which features JID, Bas, J. Cole, EarthGang & Young Nudy. It appeared on Dreamville’s compilation project ‘Revenge of the Dreamers III‘.
This Oldsmobile becomes the video’s center point. Bas is shown sitting in the car with EarthGang and J.I.D. as the video changes to his verse. They’re not simply driving around the city; they’re on their way to see J. Cole at the airport, where he’s just gotten off his private plane. The setting is now set for Cole to deliver his verse. EarthGang’s Johnny Venus shifts the setting of the video from East Atlanta to the city’s West End, just like his staccato lyrics vary the pace of the song. He also transforms the automobile from an Oldsmobile with a chopped top to a Buick GSX.
EarthGang (both Johnny Venus and Doctur Dot) and J.I.D eventually finish the film by meeting on top of the 1996 Summer Olympics torch that was left in Atlanta.
