Dreamville & J.Cole drops ‘Revenge of the Dreamers III’ Album feat Da Baby, Ty Dolla Sign & others.

After announcing it back in January, Dreamville & J. Cole has released their new compilation project ‘Revenge of the Dreamers III‘. The album contains 18 tracks with guest appearances from DaBaby, JID, Bas, EARTHGANG, REASON, T.I., Cozz, Ty Dolla Sign & More.

With two singles from the album released last month, Dreamville provided their first taste of the January recording sessions in Atlanta. Bas, JID, EARTHGANG, and Young Nudy collaborated with J. Cole on “Down Bad,” while Ari Lennox, Ty Dolla $ign, Omen, and Dreezy collaborated on “Got Me.” On Tuesday, Dreamers, a documentary about the making of the record, will be released.

Revenge of the Dreamers III opened at the top 1 on the Billboard 200 in the United States with 115,000 album-equivalent units, 24,000 of which were pure album sales. It is Dreamville’s first number-one album in the United States, and J. Cole is the sixth. In 2020, the album will be certified platinum.

Cole, who started his KOD Tour last year, was renowned for not doing too many collaborations before his flurry of guest verses in 2018. The rapper recounted the mood of the ROTD3 recording sessions in an interview with XXL for the Spring 2019 XXL Magazine cover story.

It’s like a super-collaborative environment—inviting, welcoming,” Cole explained at the time. “That’s taken me time to learn. I’ve just started learning that lesson about four years ago [with 2014] Forest Hills Drive. Let me listen more. Let me allow people into this world. That came from Bas. Watching Bas work on his first couple albums was inspiring to me ’cause he’s a super-collaborative artist.

He’s a ni**a that needs people—the producer, the musician, ideas. I was always from a position like, I don’t need nobody. But that way was only good for so long. It got boring after a while for me. So, watching Bas was really inspiring. It allowed me to be a person that could foster this type of environment for myself and for others, where it’s like, ‘You got an idea, ni**a? Hell yeah, throw that shit on there.’
