Lil Wayne drops the “Something Different” video.
Lil Wayne continues releasing new material as he drops the official video for his song called “Something Different“. The track which samples Drake’s “Laugh Now, Cry Later“, appeared on Lil Wayne’s latest mixtape called “No Ceilings 3“.
No Ceilings 3 was released in late November and features Lil Wayne on tracks such as the late Pop Smoke’s “Dior,” “Shake the Room,” and “For the Night,” as well as Travis Scott’s “SICKO MODE.” Drake and Young Thug, as well as Wayne’s sons Young Kam Carter, Lil Tune, and Young Carter, all participants in the mixtape.
The graphics are fitting for the song, especially as “Something Different” features Wayne sampling Drake’s latest hit “Laugh Now, Cry Later,” but giving it his unique Tunechi spin. This isn’t the only song that has a Drizzy influence.
There are parallels to Drizzy’s own “Toosie Slide” video, in which the Canadian musician parades about his house, but Wayne’s take on the theme is considerably brighter and, quite literally, sunnier.
The two longtime collaborators reunited for “B.B. King Freestyle,” which has Wayne and Drake trading words over a beautiful groove. This song is from Wayne’s third part of the No Ceilings mixtape series, which he released in late November, five years after the release of No Ceilings 2.
