Hamilton drops visual for “Wrote My Way Out” featuring Nas, Dave East, Lin-Manuel Miranda & Aloe Blacc.
The group of Hamilton releases a new black and white video for their song called “Wrote My Way Out“. It features Nas, Dave East, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Aloe Blacc. It appeared on their 2016’s ‘The Hamilton Mixtape‘.
Miranda’s “Wrote My Way Out,” is his second Hamildrop. The first, The Decemberists’ “Ben Franklin Song,” deviates from the hip-hop concept of the remainder of the show. Hamilton fans in Minnesota won’t have to wait long to see the original musical, which debuts at the Orpheum Theater on October 23.
Since its Broadway premiere in August 2015, the world has been enthralled with Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton: An American Musical. The musical has received scores of awards, including 11 Tony Awards, had official openings in Chicago and London’s West End, shown the documentary Hamilton’s America on PBS, and produced the 23-track album The Hamilton Mixtape in 2016, among many other achievements.
Miranda’s “Wrote My Way Out” video was shot in New York and depicts the urban setting in which she grew up. Miranda’s lyrics transport us to a time when he was beaten up for trying to read when he was younger. The lesson of “Wrote My Way Out” is that success is often the best retribution.
