Nas drops the video for his song “Ugly”.
Following a performance at this year’s Grammy Awards earlier this month, Nas is back with some new material. The rapper connects with his go-to collaborator for the official video for their song called “Ugly”. The video follows up his previous one “Wave Gods” with ASAP Rocky and DJ Premier. The track appeared on Nas’ most recent project “Magic“, which was his third straight collab album with Hit-Boy.
“It’s ugly outside, it’s muggy, it’s money outside / One hundred and five Fahrenheit, thunderous skies / The clouds shape a clown face above where you reside / Under his eye, teardrop got the ugliest cry / They call my city Gotham City, opposite of pretty,” he raps.
The video for “Ugly,” courtesy of AWGE, shows Nas and Hit-Boy riding in a limo with a couple of females. The voyage is interwoven with fast-paced views of sights that practically bring the song’s words to life, ranging from shots of active military to more abstract appearances like a room full of nameless individuals.
In 2020, Nas and Hit-Boy released King’s Disease, their first official full-length release, which featured 13 songs and collaborations with Charlie Wilson, Hit-Boy, Big Sean, Don Toliver, Lil Durk, Anderson.Paak, Brucie B, Fivio Foreign, A$AP Ferg, and The Firm — the latter of which saw Nas reuniting with Foxy Brown, AZ, Cormega, and Dr. Dre.
