DaBaby drops the video for “Lonely” with Lil Wayne.
Last week, DaBaby teamed up with Lil Wayne for a new single called “Lonely“. He announced their collaboration by calling Weezy the best rapper alive. Now the controversial rapper decided to drop the official music video for it. In the visual, DaBaby is in a mental hospital in a joker attire and sat face to face with fellow patient Lil Wayne for a conversation.
The video is dedicated to DaBaby’s late brother Glenn Allen Johnson, show the North Carolina rapper dressed as a vicious clown (a la the Joker) and both him and Wayne in a mental health facility. “Mental Health Awareness matters,” he wrote. “100% of us either deal with or know someone who is dealing with issues revolving around mental health on a daily basis. Take a moment after watching this video and check on your loved ones.”
DaBaby previously named Weezy one of his rap influences, along with the likes of Eminem, 50 Cent, and Kanye West. In one of his recent interviews, Lil Wayne addressed DaBaby’s Rolling Loud homophobic rant which resulted in him getting dropped from various festivals. “The spotlight on artists and celebrities is absolutely crazy. You don’t even have to be a celebrity. Even normal people can feel like they’re wrong because their 200 followers said something. But that’s the power of social media today,” said Wayne.
