Royce Da 5’9″ performs at NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert.
Royce Da 5’9″ teamed up with NPR Music as the latest musical guest for their Tiny Desk (Home) Concert series. Royce mentioned that he also celebrates eight years of sobriety, with the live performance in his Heaven Studios. On the show, Royce 5’9″ performed a set of four of his old tracks.
He kicks off the show with “God Speed”, followed by “Anything/Everything”, both songs that appeared on his 2018’s album “Book of Ryan“. He then performed “Dead President Heads” from his 2016’s “Trust The Shooter” project. He conclude the things with his song “Boom” which was dropped way back in 2001. Royce also expresses his support for comedian Tony Baker, whose son was killed in August near Los Angeles.
“This is a special moment for me,” Royce said. “This is the world-famous Tiny Desk, at the world-famous Heaven Studios. This is my sanctuary, this is where I spend all my time.”
“I’m also celebrating eight years of sobriety. I decided that I didn’t want the game to chew me up and spit me out. I made a promise to myself; that I was going to leave this motherf**ker with everything I came with.” Royce said
Royce recently made a guest appearance on Shady Records’ newest signee GRIP’s latest album “I Died For This?” on the song called “Placebo.”
