Joey Badass spits bars on the Funk Flex show.
Joey Badass has finally announced his long-awaited new album “2000“, a follow up to his 2017’s “All-Amerikkkan Badass”, and the sequel to his critically acclaimed 2012’s project “1999”. The project will drop next month on June 17th, and the rapper will also kick off a North American tour “1999-2000” in support of the album.
The Brooklyn rapper has now kicked off the promo run as he made a return to Funkmaster Flex’s show on Hot 97. On the show, he rides with smooth bars over Mobb Deep’s 1995 classic “Give Up The Goods (Just Step)”. “I’m back, I’m better than I ever been / I took five years off, still somehow I’m relevant,” he raps.
Badass’ freestyle arrives just days after the Pro Era rapper said he’ll be on the road to promote the new album, which also marks the 10-year anniversary of his breakout mixtape 1999. Starting in July, The New Yorker will tour to major cities on both coasts and in the Midwest.
