Eminem talks about boxing with young boxers.
Mike Tyson sat down with Eminem on the latest edition of Hotboxin with Mike Tyson to discuss a variety of issues, including family life, their love for hip-hop, and the rapper’s current album Music to Be Murdered By. The most viral moment, however, occurred near the end of the interview, when Tyson commended Em for all of his accomplishments, noting that it was especially noteworthy because nothing was ever handed to him.
Earlier this week, Eminem’s interview with Mike Tyson on ‘Hotboxin’ Podcast‘ premiered where they talk about a lot of things including Eminem boxing with young boxers. “Boxing is hard man”, said Eminem at around 14:55, “It’s hard like I’ve been boxing for like 13 years just sparring just messing around I mess around with Emanuel Steward“. Mike interrupts, “he’s the best.”
Eminem continued, “He was such a nice dude and he would come over to my house and we spar like twice a week he bring his boxers from the Crunch gym. Emanuel was like, this was like 12-13 years ago, he would come over he would show me the basics and it took a lot for me to look it took a long f**king time for me to just learn the basics. Then he started like after a couple of months of us doing it and they were just like you know up and coming kids and stuff like they would you know didn’t just you want to spar with em they’re like okay cool.”
Then Eminem revealed about getting beat up by a 14-year-old boxer. “So I got a funny little story,” says Eminem. “He’s bringing his boxers and this is we’re probably like six months in and he’s bringing his boxers like every week and I’m getting my a*s whipped but I’m at least I’m staying with him. I’m getting some good hits in, I feel really good about myself. So one day he comes over and he brings his boxer from Crunch and I’m in the house and I remember I was on the phone or something. When I came out the dude that he brought had his headgear on so I put my strap on my headgear. We’re going at it he kicked the sh*t out of me, f**k me up. so after three rounds he takes off his f**king headgear and I said man how old are you, he said 14, and I’m like I’m done.”
Did Eminem actually get hit by Mike Tyson? The two recently collaborated on the video for “Godzilla,” which is featured on Eminem’s surprise album “Music to Be Murdered By.”Slim Shady is knocked unconscious by Tyson in the video before waking up in the hospital with Dr. Dre and a guilt-ridden Tyson attempting to resuscitate him.
