Travis Scott Performs at Rolling Loud Miami 2021, Debuts New Song

Travis Scott performs at Rolling Loud Miami 2021.

On day 2 of Rolling Loud Miami 2021, Don Toliver, Gunna, Roddy Ricch, Young Thug, Lil Durk and more performed before the main headliner Travis Scott hit the stage. To kick off his one-hour set, Travis Scott debuted a brand new song called “Escape Plan”. The song is probably the first teaser of his upcoming album “Utopia”, the follow-up to 2018’s “Astroworld“.

Travis Scott, music’s ultimate rager, ruled the Ciroc Stage in Miami on day two of Rolling Loud on Saturday night (July 24). Rain and lightning couldn’t stop the rapper’s ferocious performance, which lasted an hour and included plenty of adrenaline and theatrics. Scott and his daredevil antics energized the 80,000+ people in attendance by starting his show from a circular contraption in mid-air.

In his performance, Travis performed songs from “Astroworld” like Stargazing, Carousel, No Bystanders, and Drake-assisted hit “Sicko Mode”. He also performed his hits like “Highest in the Room”, 90210, Antidote, SZA collaboration “Love Galore” and more. He also brought out special guest Mike Dean and The Migos. Migos performed their hit “Straightenin” from the latest album “Culture III”.

He slid back into 2015’s Rodeo with a dazzling rendition of “90210” before gliding into 2016’s Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight “Way Back.” He didn’t mind sharing the spotlight though, allowing the Migos to sing “Straightenin” throughout his set. Scott was apparently unconcerned about exceeding his time restriction, reassuring supporters that he had paid curfew fines to be on stage longer.

Don’t worry about it. I came out of my own pocket to pay the fines for tonight’s curfew. I don’t give a f— about no curfew,” he said.

And as always, Travis Scott concludes the set with the performance of his hit “Goosebumps” which featured Kendrick Lamar.

Update: Travis Scott’s chances of playing live again were bleak after the 2021 Astroworld disaster. There is already talk that he could make a comeback at next year’s Rolling Loud Miami Festival.

During an i-D interview earlier this year, La Flame discussed the Astroworld sequel, stating it will exhibit his versatility and progress. “I never tell people this, and I’m probably going to keep it a secret still, but I’m working with some new people and I’m just trying to expand the sound,” Scott said. “I’ve been making beats again, rapping on my own beats, just putting everything together and trying to grow it really. That’s been one of the most fun things about working on this album. I’m evolving, collaborating with new people, delivering a whole new sound, a whole new range.”

Rolling Loud Miami 2021 set the benchmark last year as the first major festival to return to the stage in 18 months, and this year is shaping up to be even larger, with more performers than ever before.

Gunna, Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, and Saweetie, as well as meteoric rises like Don Toliver, Baby Keem, City Girls, and Ski Mask The Slump God, as well as renowned veterans like Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, Three Six Mafia, and others.

Rolling Loud announced the date for early bird pre-sale tickets for the forthcoming Miami performance, which is planned to take place July 22 – July 24 on Monday (Dec. 27). Travis Scott’s return to the stage appeared to be foreshadowed in one of the tweets publicizing the event.

Scott is also said to be one of the musicians included in Kanye West’s upcoming album, Donda. Last week, West hosted a large listening party for the album, during which fans heard Scott’s voice on a song called “Praise God.” Donda was supposed to be released on Friday (July 23). The record, however, will now be released on August 6, according to “Respectfully Justin” presenter Justin LaBoy.
