Travis Scott’s Circus Maximus arrives on Youtube.
Travis Scott finally released his long-awaited new album UTOPIA last month, and it arrived with an accompanying film titled “Circus Maximus”. The 75-minute film was originally released in AMC Theaters and is now available to watch on Youtube.
The AMC chain website described the film: “Prepare to enter ‘Circus Maximus’ as Travis Scott takes his audience on a mind-bending visual odyssey across the globe, woven together by the speaker rattling sounds of his highly anticipated upcoming album ‘Utopia.’ The film is a surreal and psychedelic journey, uniting a collective of visionary filmmakers from around the world in a kaleidoscopic exploration of human experience and the power of soundscapes.”
The film is directed by the likes of Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive, Only God Forgives), Gaspar Noé (Enter the Void, Love), and Valdimar Johannsson (Lamb). The full film also features most of the songs from the UTOPIA album. The film features videos for “Sirens,” “Modern Jam,” “Hyaena” and “Delresto (Echoes)”.
Meanwhile, Travis Scott’s UTOPIA album debuts at #1 on Billboard 200 with the biggest first-week sales for a rap album in 2023. The project moved 496,000 equivalent units in the first week, with 330.68 million on-demand streams and 252,000 pure sales. The rapper also earned the biggest vinyl sales week for a rap album in Nielsen history with 55k units sold.
