Timbaland compares The Weeknd’s “Dawn FM” with Michale Jackson’s “Thriller”.
The Weeknd has dropped his brand new album “Dawn FM“, which is receiving mixed reactions from the critics and fans, but it gets co-sign from a legendary producer. Timbaland took to his social media to share some praise for The Weeknd’s brand new project.
“This album is serious, trust me. I know classic, this one of those,” he wrote on a screenshot of the R&B project. “Yo, this album’s different, yo. This sh*t right here, this on some Thriller sh*t. Trust me when I tell you. And the way he dropped this sh*t… This sh*t is amazing,” he said in his story, while listening to The Weeknd’s “Sacrifice“.
Of course, Dawn FM has a Michael Jackson connection: Quincy Jones, MJ’s producer, performs a spoken-word performance on A Tale By Quincy. Timbaland was a member of the production crew for Xscape, Michael Jackson’s posthumous album released in 2014.
Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” was dropped around four decades back, and still considered to be one of the best piece of work ever made, so it is a huge compliment for Abel, and coming from iconic artist like Timbaland is icing on the cake.
