Snoop Dogg says he’s available for Super Bowl, with Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent, and more.
After getting boycotted by many musical artists, in support of Colin Kaepernick a couple of years back, NFL starting to get in its usual business. Colin Kaepernick was a member of the San Francisco 49ers at the time of his kneeling protest, and many music artists supported him. These same musicians threatened to boycott or refuse to perform at games after Kaepernick left the league and was unable to find a new team to call home.
Now, it appears that Snoop Dogg is considering performing at the Super Bowl 50 next year, which is a bold move. According to rumors, the Super Bowl in 2022 will be hosted in Los Angeles, California. As time has passed and JAY-Z (through Roc Nation) has become more involved in the league’s activities, attitudes have shifted and business is continuing as normal. Snoop Dogg wants a star-studded halftime concert.
Next year, The Super Bowl is reportedly set to take place in Los Angeles, and Snoop Dogg who recently sat down with Yahoo Entertainment, says he’s available for the event, along with fellow artists, including Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent, Dr. Dre and more.
“Hopefully the NFL will be smart and make the right decision. It’s in Inglewood, California, and it will make the most sense in the world,” says Snoop. “I’m available, Dre’s available, Eminem available, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent, whoever Dr. Dre wants to pull out of his hat to make this thing a professional event and make it big and the biggest effort they can have. It’s just a matter of the NFL pulling the trigger.”
And Snoop, who almost a decade ago was part of one of concert history’s most talked-about spectacles alongside Dre, when they performed with a Tupac Shakur hologram at Coachella 2012, promises that he and Dre would pull out all the stops once again. “I wouldn’t just walk out. I would definitely do something that would be mind-blowing, you know what I’m saying? People will be talking about it for the next 30 years. I’m open to anything that’s dope, unique, edgy, and cunning. This will be cutting-edge, just for my people.”
On asking about a sequel of “Straight Outta Compton”, the legendary West Coast rapper says that he wants to work on a documentary on his life. “I think what makes the most sense to me is the ‘Snoop Dogg anthology,’ the life story of Snoop Dogg, where it starts with my mother and father meeting each other before I was even born, to me being born, to me growing through the ‘70s and ‘80s and the ‘90s. Me being the ‘Black Forest Gump,’ so to speak, seeing me in all of these highlighted moments in American history.”
As Roc Nation produces the halftime performance and advises the NFL on talent, Snoop may want to give JAY-Z a call as well. The Weeknd performed at the Pepsi Super Bowl LV Halftime Show in Tampa, Florida, in February of this year. Jennifer Lopez and Shakira shared the bill the year before that.
