Snoop Dogg says Dr. Dre wants to do a tour with him, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar.
Despite the release of Compton, which Dr. Dre labeled his “grand finale,” the rapper isn’t completely done with his music career. During a conversation with Chronic collaborator Snoop Dogg on Dre’s The Pharmacy Beats 1 radio show on Sunday, the G-Funk genius confessed, “One of my aspirations right now is to be able to take my ideas and take a concert over to Europe.” Dre’s proposal includes a tour with his protégés Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar.
Last year Snoop Dogg hinted at a world tour with Dr. Dre and Eminem, and now in a recent interview with RollingStone’s Martha Stewart, he says there’s hope for a world tour with Dr. Dre, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar. The interviewer asked him if he still hangs out with Dr. Dre, “What’s it like to be a fly on the wall when you and Dr. Dre hang out these days?” on which Snoop Dogg replies, “That’s my big bro, We’re older now. When we used to hang out, it used to be about music, going to a party, girls, clubbing. Now it’s about perfection because we have a legacy and a dynasty that we don’t want to mess up. We got a couple of things we’re cooking up.”
Then she asked if there’s a joint tour of him and Dr. Dre. “Does that include a tour? People want to see you two on the road,” asks Martha Stewart. “I think that makes sense more than anything.” says snoop, “A Snoop-Dre album would be amazing, but a tour even more, because we have legendary music the world has yet to see us perform globally. I’m pretty sure he wants to do it. He just wants the team in place. Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Dr. Dre – that’s the dream team for him.”
“This is one of the things that I’ve dreamed about doing. I want to call it ‘Beats & Rhymes’. I want it to be me and Snoop. I want it to be Eminem. I want it to be Kendrick Lamar,” Dre said. “Take our full stage over there and show Europe the same amount of love that they been showing me throughout my entire career. So, that’s my dream. Hopefully, we can make that happen.” Snoop Dogg suggested an alternate tour name: Hoodstock since the lineup “sounds like Woodstock on steroids.”
He adds, “I love to make it happen. I love everybody involved. I ain’t trying to take all the money. I just want what I’m worth and I’ma do what I do.” Snoop blasted Donald Trump’s run for president in another term of the conversation, saying that he had “never seen a motherf**ker like him” compete for office. “How could we have someone as dangerous as him ruling our country?” Snoop questioned.
