Snoop Dogg (a.k.a. DJ Snoopadelic) will headline the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards, which also will stream live on Sunday, June 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT from Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif. The show will be hosted by Vanessa Hudgens.

The event will be followed by an alternative version of the presentation dubbed Movie & TV Awards: Unscripted, which the network debuted in 2021.
MTV also revealed the reintroduction of the socially selected category “greatest musical moment,” as well as the 16 candidates, which include the Encanto blockbuster “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” a surprise No. 1 success on the Billboard Hot 100. Voting begins on May 30 on MTV’s Instagram Stories and ends on June 3; the winner will be announced live on the show.
At vote.mtv.com., fans may vote for their favourites in 26 gender-neutral categories. The voting period began on May 11 and ended on May 18.

Snoop Dogg’s next performance will be one of his most high-profile performances since February, when he performed with Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent, and Mary J. Blige during the Super Bowl LVI Pepsi Halftime Show. The historic event was unquestionably the greatest Hip Hop performance in NFL history.
