Snoop Dogg gifts Jamie Foxx a death row chain.
Snoop Dogg has been on the promo run for his new Netflix film Day Shift, which stars Jamie Foxx, Dave Franco, Karla Souza and more. The rapper has recently gifted Death Row Chain to several artists and sportspersons, including Stephen Curry. He now decided to honour Jamie Foxx with a gold piece of his label, which he acquired earlier this year.
“Yeah, I got something for the Foxx man you know for looking out for me, for speaking up for me, for putting me in this motion picture,” Snoop said in a conversation with Entertainment Tonight. “I wanted to gift him with something special.”
“You gotta be kidding me man,” responds Foxx. “You gotta be kidding me man. This better not be what I think it is cause I saw everyone else getting one and I didn’t wanna say nothing in the interview. The Death Row chain man. The Death Row chain man. Rose gold, and let me tell you why that’s so significant. I watched this man as a young artist sometimes have to fight for his life, and he was giving everybody anthems and songs. While we were partying and dancing sometimes he’d come to the crib and he’d be like, ‘I don’t know.’”

He continued, “So for this day to come to here for us to see him bloom it’s special. To see him kicking a*s in this movie as an actor, and at the same time anybody can tell you, Snoop is the ambassador of grace, entertainment and fun. Anytime you say Snoop Doggy Dogg, your soul lights up. So for this moment right here. It means everything my dude.”
Everyone nowadays appears to be getting a Death Row chain, as Jaime Foxx correctly noted. Former NFL player Eli Manning received a chain from Snoop Dogg for his 41st birthday, and Stephen Curry recently received one of his own. LaKeith Stanfield, a star of the Atlanta television show and Straight Outta Compton’s Snoop Dogg, slipped into Snoop’s remarks and requested his own Death Row chain.
The relationship between Snoop Dogg and Jaime Foxx has always been characterized by affection and respect; the former even stated that he would need somebody of Foxx’s quality to portray him in a biopic. “I don’t know who could play me,” he said in February 2021. “I think it’s gonna have to win me over. When I think of someone playing you, I think of how Jamie Foxx played Ray [Charles]. That was like, spot on. So I would have to find me a Jamie Foxx or somebody that can actually become Snoop Dogg on screen and give me all of that element.”
Snoop Dogg is also all set to make an appearance at MTV Video Music Awards later this month, where he and Eminem will be performing their latest collaboration “From The D 2 The LBC”.
