Rap Fans Debate On Who's Better Lyricist Between Eminem & Black Thought

Eminem vs Black Thought debate gets heated on Twitter.

Black Thought and Eminem are two of the best lyricists in the game, and the fans now debate who’s stronger after a poll shared by Beats. Rhymes & Lists on Twitter.

“Black Thought & Eminem Two of THE ILLEST ever and BOTH top1-7 GOAT tier,” a fan wrote. “Love Em buh for a stronger lyricist its Black Thought hands down. Thought is a god,” shared another. “It comes down to how much you weigh the values of what is being said with how cleverly those things are being said. For me it’s Thought. Craft, content, and consistency. But I so benefit from being 43 and having heard a lot more hip hop. No disrespect to Eminem.”

“This is hard and I legitimately have to call it a tie or maybe Em by a smidge. But I have nostalgia staying up recording Em freestyles on the Wake Up Show (LA) that I can blew my mind and to this day can rap verbatim. Black Thought is an absolute beast too,” wrote another. “In regards to Lyricism both are elite w/o a doubt. But personally I’ll go w/ Em. He’s a scientist when it comes to words, no one does it like him. Thought is a GOAT as well & I think for most people it will come down to relatability. To each his own. Respect both tho.” “Em slightly imo, but it’s very close. Both are at the very top level up there with Nas and André.”

“Em. Black Thought is Dope, but his rhyme schemes are not as unique as Em’s. His work on the Roots albums were good, but some of it wasn’t that complex. Em has better storytelling tracks and more double entendres.”

A fan also responded with Black Thought’s freestyle on Funk Flex show, which was shared by Ebro Darden. “U rappers cannot,” he wrote in the caption. “Who can’t? I’m outdoors,” responded KXNG Crooked.

The debate was also shared by the legendary Rakim, who gets a response from Eminem’s Bad Meets Evil partner Royce da 5’9″. “They have the words on a string … Like a yo-yo … The two most extreme examples of lyrical overachiever that you could pair together .. We’re not worthy,” he wrote.
