Pusha T On Subliminal Disses From Drake It Just Lets Me Know How Deep It Hurts Him

Pusha T responds to subliminal disses from Drake.

It’s been over 4 years since the diss tracks battle between Drake and Pusha T, and the Daytona rapper believes the shots from him still hurt the Toronto rap star. The former president of GOOD Music becomes the latest rap star to cover XXL Magazine, and he also sat down with C. Vernon Coleman II for a new interview.

During the conversation, the rapper was asked about his beef with Drizzy, for which he was crowned the winner by most of the rap fans. “Every time I hear a subliminal in one of his songs, it just lets me know how deep it hurt him. Because it’s been four years now,” he said. “And we still talking about it. He is. I don’t. I’m cool. But every time it’s a subliminal, I’m like, Yes. It burns. It still burns. It lets me know. I love it.”

“Drake implied that you took it to a level where you both could never squash it. Obviously, things have been quiet. Do you think he will ever jump out the window with a direct diss towards you?” asks Vernon. “We should see,” responds Push. “I don’t know what he’ll do. At this point, that’s contradictory. Would he jump out the window? And he wanna say I took it too far? Then he gon’ tell people. Tell the label. Tell J Prince. My God. It’s a lot. With all of that being said, it’s like I’m not interested anymore. I’m just really not.”

It’s also interesting that Pusha T reflects on his last conversation with Ye, reiterates his displeasure with the formerly admired artist’s recent anti-Semitic statements (“It’s wrong. Period.”), and provides a thorough explanation of why he believes It’s Almost Dry is the finest hip hop album of the year.

In the forthcoming 65th Annual Grammy Awards, It’s Almost Dry is competing for Best Rap Album. The songs God Did by DJ Khaled, I Never Liked You by Future, Come Home the Kids Miss You by Jack Harlow, and Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers by Kendrick Lamar all fall into the same group as Pusha T.
