The Projected First Week Sales Of Drake's Honestly, Nevermind Album

Drake’s new album “Honestly, Nevermind” first week sales projections are here.

This Friday, Drake made a surprise return with a brand new album called “Honestly, Nevermind“. The project was announced just a few hours prior to the album’s release. This is Drizzy’s seventh studio album and a follow-up to last year’s “Certified Lover Boy”. This time the Toronto rapper tried something new, as his project is classified as a dance album on the streaming services.

Now the projections for the Drake’s new album’s first week sales are here. According to HITSDD, the new album is projected to move around 210-230k equivalent units in the first week. The album will most likely earn Drake another Billboard 200 number 1 spot.

“Honestly, Nevermind” had 14 tracks, with a lone guest appearance from 21 Savage on “Jimmy Cooks.” The album became the biggest dance album in Apple Music history, breaking the record for first-day streams worldwide.

Drake’s previous album “Certified Lover Boy” topped the US Billboard charts with 613,000 album-equivalent units and became his tenth US number-one album and achieved the largest opening week in the US for a rap album in 2021. The album also achieved the all-time record for the most US top-ten singles from one album (9), with lead single “Way 2 Sexy” featuring Future & Young Thug topping Billboard Hot 100.

Black Coffee, Gordo, Alex Lustig, and Beau Nox handled the majority of the album’s production. The album was recorded by Shebib, Luca Pretolesi, and Noel Cadastre. Mukengerwa “Tresor” Riziki, a Congolese singer, also appears as a featured artist on “Currents,” “Down Hill,” and “Tie That Binds.”

With 204,000 album-equivalent units, including 11,000 pure album sales, Honestly, Nevermind opened at top one on the US Billboard 200. A total of 250.23 million on-demand streams were made from its songs. This is Drake’s ninth US number-one album. The album continued to perform well in its second week, moving up to number three with 73,000 album-equivalent units sold.

Drake followed “Honestly, Nevermind” with another new album “Her Loss” which is a collab effort with 21 Savage. With this year’s biggest week for an R&B/hip-hop project, Her Loss moved 404,000 equivalent units in the first week on Billboard 200 to earn the top spot.

Drizzy is now prepping the release of his next studio album “For All The Dogs”, which will drop on September 15th. The rapper shared the official cover art for the project, which is a picture of a dog that was drawn by his five-year-old son Adonis.
