15 years into her career, Nicki Minaj achieves a historic milestone. Nicki Minaj’s latest single “Super Freaky Girl” has officially debuted at number 1 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 chart. This is her first solo #1 hit, and third overall, following “Trollz,” with 6ix9ine, and her assist on Doja Cat’s “Sat So” in 2020. Earlier this year, Minaj’s Lil Baby collaboration “Do We Have a Problem?” peaked at #2 on the chart.

The “Pink Friday” hitmaker breaks multiple records with the latest single. She is now the first female rapper to earn a solo #1 hit on Billboard this century. This is the second ever solo female rap song to debut at the top of the Hot 100, previously being Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop (That Thing)” in 1998.

“Super Freaky Girl,” released on Young Money/Cash Money/Republic Records, earned 21.1 million streams, 4.6 million radio airplay audience impressions and 89,000 downloads sold in its first week. She received the biggest US pure sales week for any track in 2022.

This is the first time this century, that three solo Black female artists have reached #1 on the Hot 100 consecutively, which includes Lizzo, Beyonce and Nicki Minaj.
Minaj also released the “Roman Remix” version of the song, in which she used new lyrics to take on the fan-favorite Roman character. Lizzo’s “About Damn Time” is at No. 3, Harry Styles’ “As It Was” is at No. 2, and Beyoncé’s “Break My Soul” has dropped to No. 4 on the list.
