Nicki Minaj reflects on the “Super Freaky Girl” rap category snub at Grammys.
Nicki Minaj is rocking the charts with her latest hit single “Super Freaky Girl“, and was considered to be a massive contender for the Grammys. However, it was recently revealed that the song was moved from the rap to the pop category for the next year’s Grammy considerations.
“I have no prob being moved out the RAP category as long as we r ALL being treated FAIRLY,” Minaj tweeted after the snub. “If SFG (‘Super Freaky Girl’) has 2B moved out RAP then so does Big Energy! ANY1 who says diff is simply a Nicki hater or a troll.”

Now in a conversation with E! News, Minaj revealed that she will still attend next year’s Grammy Awards. “Yeah, why not? I’m not a coward,” she told Justin Sylvester in the interview. “I feel like I am in a really good space and therefore, why not? Why not put on a beautiful dress and cover my big b**bs and show off my big old bu*t. Why not go and flaunt it?”
“I think sometimes people think that I’m more ‘angry’ than I am,” she added. “I could be heated about something right now or this second and five minutes from now, I’ll forget about what I just spoke about.”
She continued, “I put in a lot of work. I own the right to speak on my own workplace, my own culture. I owned it. You know why? I sit down myself. I put together my own music. I write my own songs. I sit there with every mix of the song, the master. I am so much more into music than just a few raps or lines on the song.”
“If I were to be officially nominated, of course I’ll come by. Why wouldn’t I? I would come to cheer on the other people that are nominated. There are a lot of artists that I would love to see win Grammys for the first time next year.”
On Instagram, Minaj said that there was “an agenda” against her and “a concerted effort” to favour younger musicians over those who had been worthy for a long time in the music business.
She said that the musicians that the authorities “wanted to shine” and who “these corporate giants can make the money from” were losing out as a result. “The people who control a lot of things behind the scenes, they have to elevate someone that they profit off. So they must move the goalposts for me all the time.”
Minaj added: “Why is the goalpost only ever moved when it’s Nicki? Well, I’ll tell you why. They don’t want the people who they have in the industry to have to go up against me.
