The list includes the songs from the likes of Eminem, 50 Cent, Benny The Butcher, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, Black Thought, Nipsey Hussle, J. Cole, Drake, Snoop Dogg, and more.
Nas, a true rap legend, has released four studio albums in the previous 12 years, all of which are ambitious, restless, and have their own distinct aesthetic thread. Despite the fact that none of them are as revolutionary as his famous 1994 debut Illmatic or as narrative-grabbing as his 2001 comeback, they are all good-to-great. Despite the fact that Kanye West’s 11th album, Nasir, received mixed reviews, it contained the amazing “Cops Shot the Kid,” which eventually charted on the Billboard Hot 100.Nas’ storyteller, street life narrator, conscious MC, rap showboat, true-school historian, emo diarist — at both his most essential and least essential, The Lost Tapes II is a jumble of loose tracks from this era, four very different album sessions, and it’s a messy display of the many sides of Nas — storyteller, street life narrator, conscious MC, rap showboat, true-school historian.
