Naatu Naatu makes history at Academy Awards 2023.
Naatu Naatu, the Indian Telugu-language song makes history at the 95th annual Academy Awards as it won the honour of Best Original Song. The song is composed by M. M. Keeravani, with lyrics by Chandrabose, and it appeared on the soundtrack album of the 2022 Indian film RRR.

It became the first song from an Indian film to win the best original song at the Oscars. Previously, the track also won Best Original Song at the 80th annual Golden Globe Awards, which was also the first honour for an Indian song as well as the Asian song in the category.

The track became popular with the music video involving actors N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan dancing together, and the track was also performed at the Oscars earlier tonight.
The song beats Rihanna’s “Lift Me Up”, Lady Gaga’s “Hold My Hand”, Diane Warren’s “Applause” and Mitski & David Byrne’s “This Is A Life” in the Best Original song category.
