Meek Mill fails to get #1 on Billboard 200 with “Expensive Pain”.
This week’s Billboard 200 chart numbers are here. Meek Mill’s latest fifth studio album “Expensive Pain“, which he considered to be his best, debuts at #3 on Billboard 200. The album only moved 93k equivalent units in the first week, which is a huge downgrade from his last album “Championships“, which debuted atop of the US chart with 229k sales in the first week.
This was Meek Mill’s seventh top-ten debut in the United States. The album has received a total of 110.53 million on-demand streaming from the project’s tracks. The album fell to number four on the list in its second week, collecting an additional 46,000 sales.
Drake, who was previously looking at another number 1 week for his latest album “Certified Lover Boy“, now earns the #2 spot, behind Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift dropped vinyl for her “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” re-recorded album, which was originally released in April. With the Vinyl release, the album is back on number 1 at Billboard 200, after moving over 154k units this week.
Expensive Pain is another great body of work from the 34-year-old dream chaser, with singles like “Flamerz Flow,” “Sharing Locations” starring Lil Baby and Lil Durk, and the Lil Uzi Vert-assisted “Blue Notes 2.” Boi-1da, Tay Keith, Cardo, and Sevn Thomas, among others, produced the 18-track album. The lineup also includes A$AP Ferg, Kehlani, Brent Faiyaz, Moneybagg Yo, Young Thug, Vory, and Giggs.
This week, the number 4t and 5th spot went to NBA Youngboy and Lil Nas X, who earns 70k and 47k respectively for their latest album “Sincerely, Kentrell” and “MONTERO“.
