Machine Gun Kelly proves that he’s still an Eminem fan.
Slipknot’s Corey Taylor again reignited his beef with Machine Gun Kelly, as the vocalist threw some shots at the Cleveland artist during the set at 2022 ShipRocked Festival Cruise. While doing a Q&A session with the crowd, Slipknot’s frontman was asked about the last year’s situation with MGK.
“For those of you that don’t know, MGK doesn’t like me very much. And let me follow that up by saying I don’t care,” he said. “You don’t get to walk into a genre with the history, with the work- The fact that this genre really doesn’t get the f**king respect that it deserves. You don’t get to walk in as some weird substitute teacher and pretend that you can tell us what to wear – boots, shoes, house f**king shoes, slippers. Why don’t you suck every inch of my d**k? You don’t get to do that. And these are bands that maybe I don’t even f**king know, but guess what? I f**king respect them because they get on f**king stage and they f**king give every f**king thing they’ve got.”
Taylor spoke with Cutter’s Rockcast in February and made a subtle allusion to Kelly’s musical direction change. They were talking about genres and trends when Taylor stated, “I am the worst old, fogey dude shaking his cane ever. And I hate everything, I hate all new rock for the most part — well, the artists who failed in one genre and decided to go rock. And I think he knows who he is, but that’s another story.”
Now the rapper turned pop funk artist seemingly responds to the 48 year old with a popular quote of his former nemesis Eminem. “i am whatever you say i am,” he wrote in a tweet, which is lyrics from the Detroit Rapper’s song “The Way I Am”.
