He has now joined the elite list of Drake, J. Cole, Cardi B, Eminem, Fetty Wap, Nicki Minaj, Juice WRLD, Kanye West, Roddy Ricch and Xtentacion as the rappers that went Diamond with no features.
Before “Futsal Shuffle 2020” reached No. 5 two years after its release in February 2017, Uzi’s highest-charting single as a solo artist, “XO Tour Llif3,” reached at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100. Both their debut album Luv Is Rage 2 and Luv Is Rage 1.5 EP contained the song.
Owner of the Generation Now label under which Uzi is signed, DJ Drama, spoke to TMZ about the song evolved from a leak to a hit single. “Uzi was on tour overseas with The Weeknd and he lost his phone and it had some music in it,” he began. “We were fearful it was gonna leak out, so he put out a three-pack of three records on SoundCloud – one of them being ‘XO Tour Llif3.’ The reason for the song being called ‘XO Tour Llif3’ was because, you know, he was on tour with The Weeknd at the time. “And the record just started taking off and moving and moving and moving in real time, and we just watched it go from a leaked record to the biggest record on the planet.”
The fans are waiting for Uzi’s next album “P!NK”. A few months ago, he released a short EP titled “Red & White“.
