DaBaby is forgiven by LGBTQ Community.
LGBTQ Community has finally forgiven the North Carolina rapper DaBaby. A few months ago, DaBaby created a huge controversy during his Rolling Loud Miami performance after he made some homophobic statements in front of the crowd. The aftermath of his comments gets him removed from multiple festivals.
This past week, the rapper made his return to the rolling loud, as he was invited by 50 Cent to perform at the NYC Fest. Gwendolyn D. Clemons, the CEO of Relationship Unleashed told TMZ that she and her colleagues have forgiven the “Blame It On Baby” rapper, and has approved his Rolling Loud appearance, and will be supportive for his upcoming live shows. She said that DaBaby has learned a lot in the past few months, after meeting them and other 100+ organizations.
However, they’ve not forgiven the comedian Dave Chappelle, who joked about LGBTQ in reference to DaBaby in his latest Netflix Special “The Closer”.
She and her colleagues believe Chappelle used the stand-up film to disguise his prejudices as comedy — he even incorporated DaBaby’s controversial remarks and the 2018 fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man inside a North Carolina Walmart into his routine — and that he attempted to “gaslight” audiences into “bigoted points of view.”
Clemons claims that DaBaby was coming from a place of ignorance, but Dave knows what he was doing.
