Kim Kardashian is legally single now.
Kim Kardashian finally gets the single status after a year-long divorce battle with Kanye West. The ruling comes after Kanye West fired his lawyer Chris Melcher, and hired attorney Samantha Spector, who recently represented Nicole Young in her divorce with Dr. Dre.
In today’s hearing, Kim Kardashian has been declared single but will go through a divorce settlement with her ex-husband Ye. The two divorced after six years of their marriage. Kim Kardashian made an appearance for a short testimony via Zoom call on Wednesday morning in court.
Kim Kardashian recently stated that Kanye West has been giving her “emotional distress” with his Social Media antics, where he continuously dragged her and her bf, Pete Davidson. “I very much desire to be divorced. Kanye has been putting a lot of misinformation regarding our private matters and co-parenting on social media which has created emotional distress,” she stated.
The Donda rapper’s attorneys have filed court filings claiming that any prenuptial agreements made in California after 2002 are assumed to be unlawful. The decision was made in response to rumours that his ex-girlfriend was planning to apply to be proclaimed single today.
‘California premarital agreements entered on or after January 1, 2002, are presumptively invalid,’ West’s lawyers claimed in his filing. ‘The presumption of invalidity exists until rebutted at trial or the parties ratify the agreement. We are in the early stages of the case so no ratification has occurred.’
A judge has officially granted Kim Kardashian her request to become legally single following her split from Kanye West, @TMZ reports.
