Killer Mike’s Michael wins best rap album at the 2024 Grammy Awards.
The 2024 Grammy Awards are happening right now at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, and Killer Mike took home the trophies for top rap categories.
In the pre-ceremony of the event, Killer Mike was given the Best Rap Album accolade for his last year’s album “Michael“. The other albums in the category were Drake & 21 Savage’s “Her Loss”, Metro Boomin’s “Heroes & Villains”, Nas’ “King’s Disease III” and Travis Scott’s “Utopia.”
Mike also won the awards for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for his song “Scientists & Engineers”, which featured André 3000, Future, and Eryn Allen Kane. “Atlanta, it’s a sweep,” he said during acceptance of third award. “You cannot tell me that you get too old, you can’t tell me it’s too late, you can’t tell me dreams [don’t] come true. It is a sweep.”
The other artists in these categories were Doja Cat, Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice, Lil Uzi Vert, Drake, 21 Savage, Coi Leray, Black Thought, Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar.
Michael was Killer Mike’s sixth studio album, and first solo effort since 2012’s “RAP Music”. The additional guest appearances on the album were CeeLo Green, Mozzy, Young Thug, 6LACK, Ty Dolla Sign, Currensy, 2 Chainz, Blxst, and more.

However, the rapper was detained by the police following his Grammy wins as he reportedly got into a physical altercation with a security guard at the event. He was pictured being taken away in handcuffs at the Crypto arena after his three Grammy Wins.
