Kanye West updates the “DONDA” album, removes Chris Brown.
Kanye West once again did post-release changes to an album, this time for his latest project “DONDA“. The GOOD Music boss previously did the same thing with his “The Life of Pablo” which dropped in 2016. In the updated version of “DONDA” on streaming platforms, the most notable change is the removal of Chris Brown’s part from the song called “New Again.”
The major change is a probable response to Chris Brown taking shots at Ye when the album was originally released. Apart from the hook on “New Again”, a verse from Breezy was also supposed to appear on the album but didn’t make the final cut. Chris showed his disappointment and called Kanye a “Whole H*e” on his Social Media. Chris Brown later shared the unreleased verse on his IG.
It’s conceivable that West’s decision to fire Brown was as much a creative as it was a personal one: Brown, apparently dissatisfied with the tiny role he had in Donda, branded West a “whole h*e” in an Instagram Story that was immediately removed but extensively screenshotted. Brown subsequently shared — but immediately removed — the complete length of his Donda contribution on Instagram, along with the message, “The verse/chorus I mysteriously didn’t do!” in an equally audacious move.
Kanye West also removed KayCyy from the song called “Keep My Spirit Alive”, and small changes to some other songs like “Heaven and Hell”, “Come To Life”, “Junya”, and more.
