Kanye West continues teasing Ty Dolla Sign collab album “Vultures 2.”
Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign were supposed to drop their album “Vultures 2” last week, but as expected it got pushed back. While Ye continues the concert listening session, the rapper now considering releasing the project on his own website rather than streaming services.
“Was talking with the team about how to release the next album. Like James Blake said streaming devalues our music, We sell albums on Yeezy.com. I got 20 million instagram followers,” he wrote in a message to Yefanatics. “When 5% of my followers buy an album that’s 1 million albums sold. That’s 300k more than the biggest album last year.”
He continued, “We sold 1 million items on Yeezy.com on Super Bowl Sunday so we know it’s possible. How do you feel about us not streaming and only selling the album digitally[?]” “When we do that we won’t have the streaming companies in control of the artist anymore,” he added. “It would be nice for our community to support the albums. Streaming is basically pirating.”
The fan page then posted a poll for the fans about the idea of releasing the album on the website, the which over 85% voted no.
