Coachella 2022 to be headlined by Kanye West and Billie Eilish.
Last month, it was reported that Travis Scott has been removed from the upcoming Coachella 2022 event, following the deadly tragedy at the Astroworld festival. Now according to Variety sources, Kanye West is the first choice artist to be named for the upcoming Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which might include a Sunday Service performance. Billie Eilish and the Swedish House Mafia are also in talks to be the headliners for the festival.
Kanye West, who now goes by the name Ye, previously headlined the Coachella event way back in 2011, while Billie Eilish performed at the 2019 festival. The Coachella 2022 fest will take place on April 15-17 and April 22-24, and likely to see over 1,00,000 people per day at Empire Polo Ground in Indio, California.

The 2022 festival also sparked debate when it ditched its previous mandatory vaccination policy in favour of proof of a negative test within 72 hours of the event, though the backlash stemmed from the strangely clandestine manner in which it announced the change — via the festival’s official Instagram storey — rather than the move itself. According to sources, the change was intended to promote the country-themed Stagecoach festival, which takes place the weekend after Coachella and is also organised by Goldenvoice.
There’s also a possibility of the festival getting postponed due to the surge in Omicron cases, as the upcoming Grammy Awards event is also postponed for a later date.
Recently, Kanye West performed at the Free Larry Hoover benefit concert with Drake and also made a surprise appearance at Rolling Loud California.
