Opus Music Group acquires the majority of Juice WRLD’s catalog.
Juice WRLD’s catalog has been quietly sold to Opus Music Group in early 2022. According to Billboard, the Opus Music Group now owns 90% of Juice WRLD’s interest in master recording income and 90% of his share of publishing ownership after a major nine-figure deal.
The deal reportedly includes “hundreds” of unreleased tracks by the ‘Lucid Dreams’ rapper, along with his full released music work. The ownership of his master recordings will remain with his label partners, Grade A Productions and Interscope Records.
Opus Music Group is financially backed by the New York-based investment company Elliott Management, whose portfolio includes works and recordings from several other artists, producers and songwriters.
Opus Music Group, which has only three artists under its representation apart from the “Lucid Dreams” rapper, they are: Colombian Reggaeton sensation and actor Maluma; and Puerto Rican rising artist Rauw Alejandro, as per the information available on their website.
“To represent the body of work of Juice Wrld – whose cultural significance and generational influence can’t be overstated – is an honor and a responsibility,” the Opus Music Group said in a statement.
Just recently, Justin Bieber sold his music rights to Hipgnosis Songs for over $200 million.
