Jessie Reyez is releasing the ‘Coffin’ video soon.
The Canadian singer and songwriter Jessie Reyez recently teamed up with Eminem again on the track called ‘Coffin‘ which appeared on her new album ‘Before Love Came To Kill Us‘. She also thanked Eminem for his influence on her as an artist.
Now in a new interview with Vice, she confirmed that the video for her collaboration with Eminem is coming soon. In the interview, they talked about people harming each other in a relationship and how raw Jessie Reyez’s writing about it. “I didn’t consider that until I started making the video for [“Coffin”],” says Jessie, “If I’m honest with you, it’s a battle. The second I start doing that its censorship, and when I start censoring my sh*t, who am I?“.
The song is on Reyez’s highly anticipated debut album, ‘Before Love Came To Kill Us,’ which was launched yesterday (March 27). It follows the previously released singles ‘Imported’ featuring 6LACK and ‘Love in The Dark.’
Reyez previously collaborated with Eminem on the track “Good Guy” from Kamikaze in 2018. Being Human in Public, Reyez’s 2018 EP, was nominated for Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 62nd Grammy Awards. The album Before Love Came to Kill Us was released on Friday morning (March 27). The deceptively sweet song is a narrative of an obsessive love that might lead to the pair being buried together in a grave constructed for two.
On Reyez’s album, “Coffin” is one of two collaborative works. 6lack, a rapper and singer, is her other collaborator. Eminem’s newest contribution comes after speculations of a new album were quashed due to the coronavirus outbreak. In a tweet regarding allegations that states may establish martial rule to combat the spread of the coronavirus on March 16, Florida Senator Marco Rubio misread “martial” as “marshall.” On his Twitter timeline, Em addressed the speculation that he’s releasing a new project. “Sorry guys… Marshall Law: not a thing,” he tweeted.
Eminem posted a sample of the new song on Instagram, along with a message about him and Reyez wrecking each other’s life in their songs.

Speaking on her debut album in a post on Instagram, Reyez said: “The whole premise of building this album was to make something that made people think about their mortality. Now it seems like a theme song to what’s happening irl. “I’ve reached out for advice; the general consensus is ‘drop it’. I put everything into this, I even pulled it down from the pre order (Ps You gotta pre order again) to make changes because I needed to make sure I was passionate and proud of it – not the label, not my managers – me. So I did. If we drop now and the world ends tomorrow, at least my art was authentic.”
