Alicia Keys talks new album on Twitter Spaces, joined by Jay-Z.
Alicia Keys recently dropped her brand new double album “KEYS“, and she hosted a Twitter Space session for an interview with Genius’ Rob Markman. The chat was joined by several other artists, including Alicia Keys’ “Empire State of Mind” collaborator Jay-Z.
Jay-Z also talked on several topics, including going up for a VERZUZ battle. Shawn Carter gave props to Jadakiss, for his incredible performance at VERZUZ against Dipset. “That’s one of the best performances of the year,” he said. Then Hov claimed that no one in the industry stand a chance against him on a VERZUZ stage.

“No one can stand on that stage with me. It’s not a chance in hell that anyone can stand on that stage with me,” he said. “You gotta stand in front of the Grammy Family Freestyle live?”

“All this stuff is stolen from us. And this is just facts. These metals were spiritual… it’s beyond a show of wealth,” he said on the culture of jewelry in Hip-Hop. He also gave props to his wife Beyonce. “Beyonce is gonna be one of the best singers we ever heard because she is such a student,” he said.

While Jay-Z doesn’t consider anyone as a worthy opponent, fans responded with names like Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Busta Rhymes and more. Recently, Rick Ross also talked about a possibility of a VERZUZ against Jay-Z.
In a recent interview with Complex, Keys was asked about her contentious 2009 VMA performance, but she said she recalled “absolutely nothing” about it. This didn’t stop Markman from asking Hov if he forgave Lil Mama for interrupting their “Empire State of Mind” performance. “Of course, of course. C’mon. Don’t do that… That’s our sister. Man, we love her. I wouldn’t recommend people just jumping on other artists’ stages…” Jay said. “She’s a New Yorker… She got excited. Things happen. Of course we love her… yes, she’s forgiven. It’s all love and she was coming from a place of love it’s just… may have been a little too excited.”
