J. Cole earns Platinum Status for “The Off-Season”.
J. Cole reaches another milestone as the Dreamville boss earned the RIAA Platinum Certification for his latest sixth studio album “The Off-Season“. The project was dropped in May through Dreamville Records, Roc Nation and Interscope, and was executive produced by Cole, Ibrahim Hamad and T-Minus.
The Off-Season, which was released on May 14, 2021, featured 21 Savage, Lil Baby, Morray, 6LACK, Bas, Cam’ron, Diddy, and James Fauntleroy. Building on the collaborative spirit of Revenge of the Dreamers III, the album’s stacked guest list represented a 180 for an artist who had previously gone “platinum with no features” on three occasions (most recently, 2018’s KOD).

The album debuted at number 1 on Billboard 200 after moving over 282,000 album-equivalent units in the first week, and it was his sixth consecutive project to do it. The project featured guest appearances from Morray, 21 Savage, Lil Baby, Bas and 6LACK.
At the time of its release, The Off-Season achieved the largest streaming week of 2021, accumulating over 325.5 million streams. Four records from the album debuted in the Top 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
With “My Life” (at 2), “Amari” (at 5), “Pride Is the Devil” (at 7) and “95 South,” four tracks from The Off-Season debuted in the top ten on the US Billboard Hot 100. (at 8). The only other artists with four songs in the top 10 are Drake, Juice WRLD, and Lil Wayne. The album had five top ten hits after “Interlude” arrived at number eight the previous week.
The Off-Season had the greatest streaming week of 2021 at the time of its release, with over 325.5 million streams. Four singles from The Off-Season debuted in the top ten on the US Billboard Hot 100, while the album’s entire track listing charted in the top forty. At the 64th Annual Grammy Awards, the album was nominated for Best Rap Album.
The album also received a nomination for Best Rap Album at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards. J. Cole, 21 Savage and Morray’s collaboration “My Life” earned nomination for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance, while J. Cole & Lil Baby’s “Pride Is the Devil” gets a spot in Best Melodic Rap Performance.
