J. Cole’s “The Off-Season” surpasses the 1 billion mark on Spotify.
J. Cole continues earning new accolades with his most recent sixth studio album “The Off-Season” as it hits the 1 billion mark on Spotify. With this milestone, every J. Cole studio album has surpassed the 1 Billion mark on the streaming platform.

The album was released in May 2021, through Dreamville Records, Roc Nation and Interscope Records. The 12 track project featured guest appearances from 21 Savage, Lil Baby, Bas, 6Lack, and Morray. It was J. Cole‘s first album since 2013’s Born Sinner to contain guest features.
Cole had the most successful streaming week of 2021, with over 325.5 million streams and 282,000 album-equivalent units sold in the first week. With such a massive first week, it’s no wonder that the North Carolina native has already made over $2 million in song royalties.
The album which topped the Billboard 200, earned nominated for Best Rap Album at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards. Also, Lil Baby featured “Pride Is The Devil” was nominated for Best Melodic Rap Performance, while 21 Savage & Morray assisted “My Life” was nominated for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance.
The Off-Season surpassed Spotify’s one-day streaming record for 2021 on the day of its release, with 62 million streams. The album opened at number one on the US Billboard 200 in its first week, collecting 282,000 album-equivalent units (including 37,000 copies as pure album sales). This was Cole’s sixth number one album in the United States.
