J. Cole surpassed a million album units this year.
J. Cole continues his strong run as the rapper now sold over 1 million album units in the US in 2022. Cole hasn’t released any solo material this year but appeared on the Dreamville’s “D-Day: A Gangsta Grillz Mixtape” with assistance on a few tracks. Recently, he also featured on BIA’s single “London“.

The Off-Season, Cole’s most recent sixth studio album was released last year by Dreamville Records, Roc Nation and Interscope Records. The project featured 21 Savage, Bas, Lil Baby, 6Lack, Morray and others. It moved 282,000 album-equivalent units in its first week, earning Cole his sixth consecutive number-one album in the country, and also achieved the largest streaming week of 2021, accumulating over 325.5 million streams. The project scored multiple nominations for this year’s Grammy but failed to win in any category.

The Off-Season opened at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, J. Cole’s sixth consecutive chart-topper, and spawned five top 10 Billboard Hot 100 hits: “My Life” (No. 2), “Amari” (No. 5), “Pride is the Devil” (No. 7), “95 South” (No. 8) and “Interlude” (No. 9). (also No. 8).
Cole’s collaboration have resulted in many Grammy nominations, with the 21 Savage and Morray-assisted “My Life” nominated for Best Rap Rap Song and Best Rap Performance, and the Lil Baby duet “Pride is the Devil” up for Best Melodic Rap Performance.
The Off-Season is up for Best Rap Album alongside Drake’s Certified Lover Boy, Kanye West’s Donda, Tyler, The Creator’s CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST, and Nas’ King’s Disease II.
Apart from music, Cole is continuing his basketball dream again as he recently signed with the Scarborough Shooting Stars team to play in the Canadian Elite Basketball League this season.
