J. Cole & Lil Baby’s “Pride is the Devil” reaches platinum status.
After receiving multiple nominations for the 2022 Grammy event, J. Cole now has another reason to celebrate as his Lil Baby Collaboration “Pride is the Devil” has surpassed 1 million milestones. The single is now eligible for RIAA Platinum Certification in the US. The track was the fan-favourite from J. Cole’s most recent album “The Off-Season“.
Upon its initial week of release, “Pride Is the Devil” made an entry at number 7 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart along with three other tracks from the album, making Cole the third artist to debut four songs in the top ten of the chart.

The Off-Season featured 21 Savage, 6lack, Bas, Cam’Ron, Diddy, James Fauntleroy, Lil Baby, and Morray, debuting at No.1 on the Billboard 200 and propelling five of its songs into the top five on the Hot 100: “My Life” (No. 2), “Amari” (No. 5), “Pride is the Devil” (No. 7), “95 South” (No. 8) and “Interlude” (No. 8). Cole’s manager, Ibrahim Hamad, also praised the milestone on Twitter, reminding supporters how long the streak had lasted.
Earlier this week, the collaboration also received a Grammy nomination in the “Best Melodic Rap Performance” Category. The other songs in the category include Doja Cat’s “Need To Know”, Lil Nas X & Jack Harlow’s “Industry Baby”, Tyler, the Creator, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Ty Dolla $ign’s “WusYaName” and Kanye West, the Weekend, Lil Baby’s “Hurricane”.
Along with three other singles on the album, “Pride Is the Devil” debuted in the top ten of the US Billboard Hot 100 during its first week of release, making Cole the third artist to do so.
J. Cole also received a nomination for “My Life” in Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance Category. The track features assistance from 21 Savage and Morray. J. Cole’s “The Off-Season” project was also nominated for “Best Rap Album” for the upcoming 64th annual grammy awards.
The million-copy-selling tune was just one part of Cole’s newest studio album’s triumph, which garnered him four Grammy nominations in 2022. The Off-Season is up against Ye’s Donda, Drake’s Certified Lover Boy, Tyler, the Creator’s Call Me If You Get Lost, and Nas’ King’s Disease II in the Best Rap Album category, while “Pride is the Devil” is up against Ye’s Donda, Drake’s Certified Lover Boy, Tyler, the Creator’s Call Me If You Get Lost, and Nas’ King’s Disease II. Cole has won one Grammy for his collaboration with 21 Savage on “A Lot,” and has been nominated 16 times since 2012.
