Hailie Jade answers if she listens to her Dad Eminem.
As we’re heading into 2022, Music Streaming Giant Spotify has unveiled the lists of their top artists, songs and albums of 2021. In the overall list, Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny topped the list of most-streamed artists globally this year, followed by Taylor Swift, BTS and Drake. Several artists share their performances on Spotify, and fans are also taking it to social media to unveil their favourite musicians of 2021.
Hailie Jade Mathers, Eminem’s daughter and social media star also shared her top artist of 2021, and it’s none other than the Detroit Rapper himself. She unveiled her top Spotify artist through a lip-syncing video on her TikTok. Hailie uses Wendy Osefo’s viral words, “What? am I a Nicki fan? pull up in Sri Lanka, What???”
With the clip, she also answers all the fans who often ask her if she listens to Eminem’s music. “What? Do I listen to my dad’s music? I think my dad’s gone crazy,” she captions the video. The Spotify Wrapped 2021 revealed that Hailie Jade is in the top 3% of Eminem’s listeners.
On Mike Tyson’s Hotboxin’ podcast in March 2020, Eminem discussed his connection with Hailie and revealed that being a father is what he is most proud of in life. “Hailie is 23,” he said at the time. “Not babies, nope. Just a boyfriend, and she’s doing good. She’s made me proud for sure. She graduated from college, 3.9. It’s definitely is crazy. I have a niece that I have helped raise too that’s pretty much like a daughter to me and she’s 26, and then I have a younger one that’s 17 now. So when I think about my accomplishments, that’s probably the thing I’m most proud of – being able to raise kids.”
Just a Little Shady, the brand-new podcast from Hailie Jade, also known as the genuine Slim Shady’s daughter, has just begun. Through personal anecdotes and never-before-told tales, Jade and Brittany Ednie, her childhood best friend, will host a podcast that will give listeners a glimpse into the lives of the rapper and his daughter. “I remember going on [Eminem’s tour bus] and all our memories of being young were so cool and unique to look back at now,” Ednie said. “But at the time, it felt so normal and not anything strange or different. I mean, ’cause we didn’t know any better.”
