Eminem crowns Tupac as the greatest songwriter of all time on Shade 45.
Eminem recently went live on his radio channel Shade 45 where he revealed a new tracklist for the fans to listen to in quarantine which he titled ‘Music To Be Quarantined By‘. In the virtual live stream, he revealed his favorite artists and tracks which mostly include the music from old-school hip-hop legends.
Shady revealed how he came to that conclusion as he prepared to play “If I Die Tonight” from ‘Pac’s 1995 classic “Me Against The World“. Marshall attributes ‘Pac’s greatness to more than just lyrical ability, citing one of his greatest skills as his ability to make the audience feel his words.
Before streaming the music of 2Pac, he crowned him the greatest songwriter of all time. “This next song is from an artist I feel might be the greatest songwriter of all time,” said Em. “Debate what you want about emcee skills and all that, because he had that too. But this is one of the songs by 2Pac, where to me, he was showing ‘I can write heartfelt shit and I can write lyrical crazy sh*t to.’ They say pu**y and paper is poetry, power, and pistols. Plottin’ on murdering muthaf**kas fore’ they get you.”
Eminem continued, “Like, the play on the P words and how he was doing it was so crazy, Mixed with the feel that 2Pac could give you, which is constantly why he was always saying ‘can you feel me?!’ Because you felt Pac. You can’t just listen to Pac, but you feel Pac. If you listen to him, you gon’ feel him. Anyways, this is 2Pac’s “If I Die Tonight.’”
Recently Lord Jamar stopped by DJ Vlad’s show for a fresh interview, and the presenter, as usual, asked him a question about Eminem. Vlad asked him if he believes with Eminem that Tupac is the greatest songwriter of all time. Lord Jamar responded by stating that he does not agree with Eminem. “Disagree, because he had some good songs but I don’t know if he had the greatest songs of all time, like get some good songs. I loved Tupac but no,” said Jamar.
Eminem also showed his support to the coronavirus outbreak last week by delivering hundreds of servings of “mom’s spaghetti” to Detroit hospital personnel. According to The Detroit News, Eminem’s Marshall Mathers Foundation brought 400 lunches to the Henry Ford and Detroit Receiving hospitals.
