Eminem Applauds LL Cool J for Hall of Fame Induction 16 Y.O Marshall Is So Proud

Eminem shouts out LL Cool J for Hall of Fame honour.

This past weekend, was a special day for Hip-Hop icons LL Cool J and Jay-Z as they were honoured with Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductions. While Barack Obama and Dave Chappelle inducts Hov into HOF, Eminem, Jennifer Lopez and Dr. Dre showed up for LL Cool J. Dr. Dre presented LL with a heartfelt speech, Eminem & J. Lo joined him for a live performance.

“LL’s body of work contains some of the most diverse hip-hop has ever seen. He became rap’s first pop superstar while staying true to his roots representing Queens, New York. The second thing I think about this is remarkable longevity. Now I’ve been doing this for 35 years and I’ve seen artists come and go; they get one or two hits and then they’re gone; they disappear. But LL’s longevity is unparalleled in hip-hop,” said Dr. Dre.

After the event, LL Cool J also asked about who would he like to see get the special HOF honour. “So many. I mean, Outkast would be amazing,” he said. “Eminem would be amazing. Eric B and Rakim would be amazing. Big Daddy Kane. So many artists of Hip-Hop that are amazing. KRS-One. I had a lot of mainstream success but there are guys who may didn’t have this mainstream success but they are extremely talented.

Now Eminem, who has been hugely influenced by “Mama Said Knock You Out” rapper, took to his social media to acknowledge LL Cool J for the special achievement. “It was such an honor, & 16 y.o. Marshall is so proud- congrats L,” he wrote with their picture from the HOF event.

Fellow rap legend Dr. Dre handled the duty of inducting LL by giving a speech that validated his excellence while still being humorous. “What does LL actually stand for? Ladies love? Living large? Licking lips?” Dre asked. “I’m here because I personally think it stands for Living Legend.” “LL’s longevity is unparalleled in hip hop,” Dre said. “[He’s] the rare artist loved by you, your mom and all of your kids all at once.”
