Eminem was the most-viewed rapper on Youtube in October.
Eminem continues his domination on Youtube worldwide as he again becomes the most viewed rapper on the platform in the past month. The Detroit rapper has been the top artist throughout this year, and now increases the gap on the top spot.
The “Lose Yourself” rapper earned 409 million views on Youtube globally in October. Last Week, the rapper released a deluxe edition of his “8 Mile” Soundtrack to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the album. In August, Marshall Mathers released his new greatest hits compilation album “Curtain Call 2”, featuring some of his top hits since 2009. The double disc album featured 16 tracks, including his most recent release “The King And I” with CeeLo Green, and “From The D 2 The LBC” with Snoop Dogg.
Eminem’s numbers are likely to increase this month, as he will be honoured with Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction on 5th November.
The second most-viewed rapper on Youtube was Lil Baby, who earned 220 million views in October. The Atlanta rapper dropped his new third studio album “It’s Only Me” which debuted at #1 on Billboard 200 after moving 216,000 album-equivalent units in its first week.
This year Hip Hop will be represented by Eminem at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony in 2022. Inductees include more than 30 performers with connections to Detroit and Michigan. Speaking with The News Herald was his manager and business partner Paul Rosenberg. “Hugely significant. It’s part of somebody’s legacy, to get that recognition. And this is the first time on the ballot, so that’s a big honor. It’s one of the big trophies in the case. Marshall is an extremely humble guy, and he doesn’t love people fawning over him in that way. But like anybody else who works hard at what they do, he appreciates being recognised for it. What it means to him…you’ll have to hear him when he gets up on stage”.
