Ebro Darden Says Drake's Certified Lover Boy is a Straight Up Rap Album

Ebro Darden suggests that Drake’s “Certified Lover Boy” is a full rap album.

Yesterday, Drake has finally confirmed that his highly anticipated new album “Certified Lover Boy” is indeed dropping this week on September 3rd. Along with the announcement, Drizzy shared the said-to-be album cover art, which had the internet confused. The Album Artwork featured pregnant woman emojis of 12 different skin colors.

Drake released the cover image, which was made by Damien Hirst and features 12 pregnant lady emojis. The album will be released on September 3, nine months beyond its initial January release date, to coincide with the completion of a full-term pregnancy.

After looking at the Album Cover, fans started speculating that this will be an R&B project. Drake is known for having a few R&B tracks along with some rap songs on his previous, and as a matter of fact, most of his biggest hits are from the R&B genre. Ebro Darden was quick to respond to the speculation about the project. “I actually heard it is a straight-up rap album,” he said in a tweet without revealing the source. Back in January, Drake also teased that he is looking to drop bars on his upcoming “CLB” album.

If he’s right, it’ll be a breath of new air for fans of Drizzy’s lyrics who have long admired him. Drake’s participation in many “best emcees” conversations isn’t without a qualifier, and an album focused almost exclusively on his bars would go a long way toward moving certain narratives in his favour.

Drake is looking at a tough competition on the charts after the latest long-delayed Kanye West’s album “DONDA” is breaking many streaming records.
