Kanye West’s Donda, J. Cole’s The Off-Season, Lil Nas X’s MONTERO, Moneybagg Yo’s A Gangsta’s Pain, and Polo G’s Hall of Fame, to mention a few, all faced fierce competition in last year’s sales race. However, the 6 Gods’ fourth-quarter performance was too much to overcome.
The album is also the first rap project of 2021 to reach double-platinum status. The album was best selling rap album of 2021, and third on the overall list after Morgan Wallen and Olivia Rodrigo. Drizzy also dominated Genius and Youtube, as he was the third top artist on both platforms last year.
“Certified Lover Boy” was also nominated for Best Rap Album and multiple other categories on upcoming Grammy Awards, but Drake withdrew his name for unknown reasons.
