Drake has the biggest Spotify Opening week for a dance album.
Last week, Drake released his surprise new album “Honestly, Nevermind“. The project was classified as a dance album on the streaming platforms, and now it’s breaking several records in the genre. The project is Drizzy’s seventh studio album and a follow-up to last year’s record-breaking effort “Certified Lover Boy”.
The album had the biggest opening day streams for a dance project on Spotify, and now it grabs the week record as well. The project was streamed 213.9m times in its opening week on the music streaming platform Spotify. It now becomes the biggest ever opening week for a dance album, and the Toronto rap star’s 4th biggest opening week and the 31st biggest opening ever.

“Honestly, Nevermind” featured 14 tracks, with a lone guest appearance from 21 Savage on “Jimmy Cooks.” The album became the biggest dance album in Apple Music history, breaking the record for first-day streams worldwide.
According to HDD, the new Drizzy album is heading on to another #1 debut on Billboard 200, with over 210k equivalent units in the first week, and it will be his 11th #1 project.
The streaming success of the new album is the latest in a long line of successes for the “Knife Talk” musician with the streaming platform. His previous album, Certified Lover Boy, released in September 2021, broke the platform’s record for most first-day streams globally and still holds the record for a largest album in Apple Music history at the time of publishing.
Drake’s 2018 album, Scorpion, comes in second place, with the second-highest ever first-day streams globally on Apple. Meanwhile, his Certified Lover Boy tune “Girls Want Girls” holds the record for the most first-day streams in Apple Music history.
