Drake praises Meek Mill for his new album “Expensive Pain”.
Meek Mill has finally released his brand new album “Expensive Pain“, which is getting positive responses from critics and fans. The fifth studio album which Meek Mill called his best yet, featured guest appearances from Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Kehlani, ASAP Ferg, Moneybagg Yo, and more. The Toronto star Drake also promoted the Meek Mill album, before the release of the project.
Half a decade back, both the rappers were beefing, throwing shots at each other through diss tracks. The feud in which Drake was crowned as the winner, was officially squashed at a Boston concert in 2018. Since then, the duo often shows their support for each other. Drake took to his IG, where he wrote, “PAIN GETS EXPENSIVE AT MIDNIGHT, @meekmill proud of u boy since the Bahamas cook up we were plotting on the next chapter time to eat.”

While Drake isn’t featured on the album, Meek recently opened up to Zane Lowe about their past beef, saying that 2019 was his “slowest year” and that he was at a “disadvantage” in the eyes of many.
In the interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Meek Mill spoke about how he bounced back after the beef with Drizzy. “2019, I think my slowest year, me and Drake was beefing. I was at a disadvantage,” he said. “He was winning, in the eyes of the people. I still walked my way through that, went through prison, I had to go through something. Once I bounced back out, Championships. We had a pandemic, two years go by, few people fading away. We in 2021, I’m going to stand on Expensive Pain, I’m going to stand on my talent, and I’m going to remain confident and hope that people pay attention to what’s going on because they got a long way to go. I’m trying to keep pushing.”
Meek Mill used his confidence in the interview to demand that he be treated with the same respect as his fellow members of the 2011 XXL Freshman Class “Personally, and it’s up for the fans to have an opinion, and that’s what keeps me going, I don’t feel like I get the credit that I deserve as far as the artists,” he said. “I come from the 2012 era. If you go check the [2011 XXL Freshman Class cover], shout out to [XXL Editor-in-Chief] Vanessa [Satten], I’m on the cover. It’s me, YG, it’s Kendrick [Lamar], it’s Mac Miller, rest in peace, Fred Godson.”
