Drake Praise Lil Wayne at his 39th Birthday Party.
Earlier this week on Sept 27th, one of the greats of Hip-Hop, Lil Wayne closed in on the 40s as he celebrated his 39th Birthday. Weezy received wishes from various fellow artists, including Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj, and Fat Joe, along with millions of fans online. Lil Wayne’s close friend and long-time collaborator Drake also celebrated his birthday as he hosted a private dinner with some friends in Miami.
Lil Wayne’s birthday bash was also attended by Quavo, Ray J, Gudda Gudda, YK Osiris, and Preme, as well as other friends of YMCMB and OVO’s respective camps. Guests received party swag such as customized bandanas — a nod to Wayne’s Hot Boys days — adorned with phrases such as “Best Rapper Alive,” “Mr. Carter” and “Weezy,” as well Green Bay Packers caps, an homage to the birthday boy’s favorite NFL team.
During their dinner party, Drake decided to praise his mentor Lil Wayne as he raised a toast for him, along with a wholehearted speech. “We don’t get much chance to gather as a family, a lot of faces that we started this journey with, I mean, I still to this day get nervous speaking about this man [Lil Wayne] because at the end of the day, as much of a brother and a mentor as he is to me, he’s still like my idol and still somebody who just puts me in a place where when I start thinking about him, I start thinking about my family and all the things that could’ve went a different way,” says Drake.

He continues, “And I think the most important thing I just wanna say, First of all, Aside from the fact that you’re definitely the braziest ni**a I know, I mean, off top, the braziest out of anybody… but with that comes the most advanced musical ear that I’ve ever encountered. The most poised, the most wisdom.”
“They’ll never be anybody… anybody who walks this earth that’s like you. We literally have no existence if it’s not for you. That’s the best way I could put it man. I just want you to take that in. All these human beings out here, we have nothing without you. And we love you so much. I’ll do anything for you. I am speaking for everybody around here. That’s it.”
Drake also added to the atmosphere by wearing personalised bandannas with messages like “Best Rapper Alive” and “Weezy.” @champagnepapi went all out!!” Cortez Bryant, Wayne’s manager, stated.
Drake recently enlisted Lil Wayne on his new album “Certified Lover Boy“, along with Rick Ross on the fan-favorite song called “You Only Live Twice.”
